Blacks Without Borders

Posted by admin on May 28th, 2010 and filed under country borders | 25 Comments »

From filmmaker Stafford U. Bailey, who directed such critically acclaimed documentaries as A Laugh, A Tear; The Other Side of Victory; and The Black Road to Hollywood, comes BLACKS WITHOUT BORDERS an emotional story about hardship, sacrifice and great rewards. This film plunges into the lives of a group of African Americans who have come to South Africa to find the American dream. These ex-pats have discovered that America is not the only land of opportunity. The boundaries that many of them faced in the United States dont exist in South Africa. Everyone knows about the deplorable conditions in parts of Africa, but this film captures the wonderful lifestyle South Africa has to offer. We follow these modern day globetrotters all over the country and tour their amazing homes. From an 11,000 sq ft. house that overlooks the Indian Ocean to a 35,000 sq ft. mansion that sits on 700 acres. This film is funny, heartwarming and passionate. It will take you by surprise and leave you deeply moved.

kenya tyme

hear the cracklin’ paper
as you test the basil – mayo
pull apart the cheese
and tip your brown beer bottle
smell the grinding coffee beans
set by tattooed arms to motion
near the burlap bag topped table
holds the telephone unanswered

he feels her shaking laughter
as she forks her chick panini
underneath the spaceship lights
where she gestures, “See You later!”
he feels the brick wall borders
holding all the human faces
bulletin board like talkers
in between sweet licks of frosting

he tastes her warmth from her casual glance
come on over if you please
wouldn’t miss this Kenya tyme
for such a time as these…

Should we build a wall like they did in China or Berlin to protect our borders from immigrants or?

Posted by admin on May 26th, 2010 and filed under wall borders | 4 Comments »

Should we just arrest those who break the law and lure them here with jobs because they do not wish to pay decent wages to our citizens ?

Sure, why not.

The Great Wall of America won’t completely stop illegal immigrants from Mexico. But it will create construction jobs, which will go to all the illegal workers. They will be building a wall to keep their own people out in the future. I like the irony.

How much do you think building the Great Wall of America will cost? Because you know we are broke and will have to borrow from Chinese to build the wall. We will borrow the money to buy materials imported from China to build the wall. Ah, the irony. I love it.

But if you want the darn wall, let’s built it!

Maybe what we need is a high-tech solution. Like putting a precision laser cannon satellite in the orbit that shoots laser beam to fry anyone who steps across the border. lol.
