Kyl says Obama said no border security for political reasons

Posted by admin on June 27th, 2010 and filed under border | 25 Comments »

On June 18, 2010, Arizona Republican Senator Jon Kyl told the audience at a North Phoenix Tea Party town hall meeting that during a private, one-on-one meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office, the President told him, regarding securing the southern border with Mexico, “The problem is, . . . if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’” [Audible gasps were heard throughout the audience.] Sen. Kyl continued, “In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it is combined with ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’”

Sen. Kyl also said he reminded President Obama that the President and the Congress has an obligation, a duty, to secure the border.

I dedicate the video in our Cypriote brothers

Posted by admin on June 22nd, 2010 and filed under country borders | 25 Comments »

Tassos and Solomos, you gave your lives for a country without borders, for the right to return to your parental homes and for the removal from Cyprus of the flag of oppression, of murder and brutality, the flag of division and occupation.

One year after your sacrifice, negotiations are being held (11-16 August) and efforts are being made NOT to fulfil your aspirations for a country without barbed wire, but for a settlement designed to legalise illegality – to reward the aggressor and punish the victim; to make permanent a regime created from invasion, ethnic cleansing and ethnic engineering; a settlement designed to destroy the religious and cultural identity of the Greek Cypriots making a mockery of human rights and civilised norms.

It is Lobby’s considered opinion that the dates for these negotiations were carefully and deliberately chosen to divert attention from your brutal murders and Turkey’s second devastating invasion of our country. The overwhelming majority of Greek Cypriots, however, will never forget.

We vow to RESIST such appeasement. Lobby for Cyprus and indeed all the Greek Cypriot refugees will continue the struggle for as long as it takes and until:-

ALL Turkish troops are removed from the Republic of Cyprus.
ALL Turkish colonists are repatriated to Turkey
ALL refugees are allowed to return to, and/or reclaim their stolen properties without pre-conditions, restrictions, or discrimination.

David McCormack
Naomi Radon
Elana Stone

Lyrics:

I remember the songs you sang to me
When I was a babe in arms
Oh, my stars, oh, my stars
Will you navigate me home

We are princes and princesses
So our pauper fathers told us
As they carried us through darkened streets
With eyes sad as soldiers
To where no country and no colours and no borders
Can hurt us again

I remember the songs you sang to me
When I was a child in arms
Oh, my stars, oh, my stars
Will you guide me to my home

Are they your brothers and sisters?
Or someone’s sons and daughters?
Did they flee the Gods of war?
Did they place their faith in water
So no country and no colours and no borders
Could hurt them again

Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na

And the man in the moon
Sees the man on the ground collapse
And the man on the scene
Says to the boy in the jeans
“Keep it real, kid, just give us the facts”
“Keep it real, kid, just give us the facts”
“Keep it real, kid…”

I remember the songs you sang to me
At night when the seas were calm
Oh, my stars, oh, my stars
Please deliver me from harm

And the night sky’s inverted and
Reflected in the ocean
And the stars guide us through
Ever deep the darkness
To where no country and no colours and no borders
Will turn us away

Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na

Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na

And the man in the moon
Looks down and he turns his back
As the man in the coat
Says to the lost on the boat
“Keep it real, kid, just give us the facts”
“Keep it real, kid, just give us the facts”
“Keep it real, kid…”

I remember the songs you sang to me
When the lightening skies were calmed
Oh, my stars, oh, my stars
Please deliver me from harm

Oh, my stars, oh, my stars
Deliver me from harm

Enjoy =3~

This song is dedicated to Anarchists Against The Wall and all the ones who fight against the apartheid in Palestine

lyrics:

They build walls, they steal the land
The world ignores, deaf and blind..

The world ignores the tragedy of the exiles
Since Six days war Israel denies
No passage to Ramallah.. the invader now forbids
Theyre all ghurba**. No way for the refugees

They build walls, they steal the land
The world ignores, deaf and blind..

I hate the frontiers, I hate the borders
Borders of the body, of the writing, of the behaviours
Of the states..***

People lead to famine, convicted in a cage
Sheltered by U.S.A. the executioners take no blame
They build walls, they steal the land
The world ignores, deaf and blind..

* barrier
** refugee

Bruce Springsteen Across The Border Live In Studio

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under border | 25 Comments »

Amazing song from the Ghost Of Tom Joad Album.

LYRICS:
Tonight my bag is packed
Tomorrow I’ll walk these tracks
That will lead me across the border

Tomorrow my love and I
Will sleep ‘neath auburn skies
Somewhere across the border

We’ll leave behind my dear
The pain and sadness we found here
And we’ll drink from the Bravo’s muddy waters

Where the sky grows gray and white
We’ll meet on the other side
There across the border

For you I’ll build a house
High up on a grassy hill
Somewhere across the border

Where pain and memory
Pain and memory have been stilled
There across the border

And sweet blossoms fill the air
Pastures of gold and green
Roll down into cool clear waters

And in your arms ‘neath open skies
I’ll kiss the sorrow from your eyes
There across the border

Tonight we’ll sing the songs
I’ll dream of you my corazón
And tomorrow my heart will be strong

And may the saints’ blessing and grace
Carry me safely into your arms
There across the border

For what are we
Without hope in our hearts
That someday we’ll drink from God’s blessed waters

And eat the fruit from the vine
I know love and fortune will be mine
Somewhere across the border

How can i cut texture wallpaper into 9inch wall border?

Posted by admin on June 14th, 2010 and filed under wall paper border | 1 Comment »

I just purchased a home and in master bedroom there is a existing wall border that needs to get covered by new wall border. I am unavailable to find a wall border that matches my wall paint….There is no company who sells border in my area! Anyhow, I tried cutting the paper but was not able to get perfect cut because it’s a textured wall paper…Any advice?

You could try and getting hold of a length of timber 9 inches wide and some clean plywood lay the plywood on a flat surface like the floor with one edge laid up to the wall now lay your wallpaper on the plywood also with one edge near to the wall and lay your 9 inch timber onto those again keeping tight to the wall and then get a stanley knife and cut along the edge of the timber giving you a 9 inch strip, the plywood will prevent you from damaging the floor and the idea of keeping up against the wall will keep your timber from moving so you should get a good cut, failing that try taking the paper to your local wallpaper shop and they might cut it for you.
