History

I started baking bread in 1997 with an interest in healthy and delicious fresh bread to share with our friends and family. After using several standard multi-grain recipes, I began to experiment with grinding fresh whole grains and making my own multi-grain mixes. Recently, our family has started on a health diet and exercise regiment that includes consideration of food allergies, gluten / wheat intolerance, lactose intolerance, and the like. We have had to educate ourselves on these matters. For us, this diet is based on our blood-type. I have been modifying my bread recipes to meet these special diet requirements, and am finding this of interest to many friends who are diet-conscious.

Bread Without Borders creates bread mixes and fresh bread for bread lovers and home bakers everywhere. We call it "Norton's Wellbread." We fresh mill the organic whole grains for our mixes. We use nutrition rich ancient grains from around the world.

Over time, milled flour losses 85% of its nutritional value. Fresh milling is your assurance of quality. We are developing recipes for those on special diets or food allergies and those who need gluten-free, milk-free, and yeast-free grain products. We make it fun to follow a healthy diet in many ways.

Our philosophy is, Break Bread - it's the recipe for Peace! The ancient ritual of bread making and sharing (breaking bread) with family and friends, is worth reinforcing in our violent and war torn world. Even today, this ritual can bring people together around a table to celebrate our common humanity. It is our desire to support peace and peace making through continuance of this ritual of breaking bread together.
