One of the guys … One of the guys high-stepping has ever broken a tibia or fibula…
Pretty interesting display.
I wonder what that ceremony would be like if we (USA) were on the same terms with Canada. There’d be a couple pasty hosers stumbling around in hockey masks and Gretzky jerseys…
India and Pakistan … India and Pakistan are sworn enemies.. there has been a cold war running for over 60 years. Pakistan has blackmailed India on many occasions.. it is all the tension which you see here.
I think it’s kind … I think it’s kind of a nice thing…I mean, it may seem like a crazy custom to us, but I think it’s a start for India and Pakistan. I like that they take the flags down together every night and the flags almost touch each other in the glow of the afternoon sun. That seemed really powerful to me, as well as the fact that they shake hands with each other at the end. I’m glad that they enjoy the tradition and hopefully, it’s a good start for true peace between these rival nations.
Better to throw … Better to throw kicks than nukes. Wonder if the crowd is there every evening. If they had jobs, they would be better off?? Anyway – to each his own.

Almost as bizarre an interaction at Checkpoint Charlie, 1961. “Remember, both of these countries have nukes…”
