Hinduism says there are 100s of angels & saints who help humans reach god, not 100s of gods. Some angels are shown with animal heads to remember how they help. The ‘elephant-headed’ angel gives stability & steadyness, just as an elephant moves in a stable & steady manner.

There are 970 million Hindus in India alone (81% of the population), not 50 million as you think.
All non-muslims have become fed up of muslims. So, there is no need to consider Hindus alone, but consider all non-muslims, that is 5 billion.
