Wall appliques/stickers will not stay on wall?

Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under wall paper borders | 2 Comments »

I just bought some wall appliques/stickers and peel-and-stick wall paper border but it will NOT stay up. Any suggestions on what I can do to make them stick. I cannot take them back. UGH!
Walls are clean and dry. Would wallpaper paste work?

Make sure your walls are clean and smooth. Give them a good wash – and dry – and then try applying the appliques again.

Santa Rosa Illegal Alien Debate part 12

Border wall subject comes up as Vickie Mayster of the Catholic Charities Foundation, a socialist front group, lies and babbles. Yeh Ling Ling of DASA attempts to present truth as she is interrupted & cut off by La Raza-illegal alien advocate-moderator, Herb Castillo. If a wall is ecologically unsound, what about all areas along border land that’s littered a foot deep with bottles, cans, soiled disposable diapers, sanitary napkins, panties, clothes, backpacks, human feces, used toilet paper, pharmacy bottles and syringes (the drug runners inject stimulants to keep their energy up)?

Where to buy wall paper in Egypt/Cairo?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under wall paper borders | 4 Comments »

Where in Egypt/Cairo can I buy wall paper (borders) for my kids rooms?

my advice is that you dont put wall paper on the walls of your house .
there is a lovely fashion.
i saw paintings on walls .
the painting of a sea , a lake , a wood .
the paintings are not made by an artist .
they are made by a sort of amateur .
they change the look of the room completely .
enjoy .

I want to decorate my son’s room, do the ‘removable borders/wall paper" really come off easily?

I want to put up a border in my son’s room, and I have seen several kinds that claim to be removable. I’m just looking for anyone who has experience with these, do they really come off? Have you had problems with them? We are renting our house so I don’t want to damage the walls, but I really want to make my son’s room look like a little boys room and since we can’t paint, I thought a border would be a start.
Anyone with experience please help, thanks!

I have the removable stickers in Noah’s room and they peel off pretty easily. We live in base housing so we cannot paint and those do no harm to the walls!

My brother and SIL used the removable border in their daughter’s room(they were living in an apartment at the time-couldn’t paint) and it came off when they moved.

If you’re unsure cut a small piece off and try that first. Maybe leave it on for a day or so and then try removing it. But from what I’ve seen they work well.

How to make wall art from stuff lying around at home!

(SORRY there isn’t a preview in the beginning of the video… I was editing the video and added all the text, when i realized that I had to add in the preview pics… and when I added them in, it shifted the videos and text and they didn’t end up matching up… I didn’t want to start over haha.)

I was bored and thought I’d make something to hang up in my room.
I didn’t want to go out and buy anything, so I made use of what I had laying around.
What I used:

-2 wooden frames that I’d purchased from the Dollar Store a while back.

-Black acrylic paint + paint brush

-Old wrapping paper

I know they look plain but there are numerous things you can do to take this design a little further!

you can:

-cut out your name from black construction paper and stick it on the design (it can be hung on your room door! )

-you can take a picture of something/someone and stick it on the design, so the pic will have a nicely designed border.

-you can make a lot more of these and hang in up in 3’s, 9’s, 16’s, etc,… (above your bed or sofa…)

-you can hang them on either side of a mirror and have your sconces shining in front of them.

the ideas are endless…

Please comment and rate! :)

I am trying to hang wall paper border in a rental property. Any suggestions to make it easily removable?

Posted by admin on February 15th, 2010 and filed under wall paper borders | 4 Comments »

Yes,removable, washable, and reusable! Sounds to good to be true? Consider using cotton material instead . It goes up with some liquid starch, and a spray-bottle with a little water in it. It’s so extremely easy, I will never have wall paper in my house again! If you get the seams crooked, just pull it off and do it again. You can wash it in the washer, if it gets dirty, than just spray some starch, and smooth it back on with your hand. It reminds me of those Colorforms we played with when we where little kids. The only tools needed are a pair of scissors,a ladder, a sponge, and your spray bottle of starch. Think about it. Bye

Whats the best way to remove old wall paper and border?

Posted by admin on February 5th, 2010 and filed under wall paper borders | 4 Comments »

I am really looking for the easiest way. It would be removed from paneling.
God bless you Mikey for such an undertaking. My cat is weird that way too!

Mikey boiled water on the stove and put it in a pump up sprayer and sprayed the wall and let it sit for a few minutes and then used a plastic scraper. You will get a rhythm down and will be able to let one area soak while scraping another, All traces of the glue must be taken off and don’t let the sheetrock get too soaked as that will be a major headache. The glue will crackle if left on the wall and painted over. Once you get it pretty clean a warm water rag can be used to clean it and be ready for paint. Use drop cloths for sure and plastic bags as the glue makes a snotty mess. My Doberman thought it was fun to grab it and eat it while my back was turned………

What is the easiest and fastest way to get wall paper/border off?

Soak the paper with water to which detergent has been added. Leave until paper is bubbling off and then remove with a broad flatscraper – going gently to avoid ‘jipping’ the plaster. Don’t use a steam stripper – most people end up taking half the plaster off, and your arm will be dropping off after holding it up for half an hour. Wash down the plaster to remove all the last bits of paper and glue residue. (Don’t try this on unfinished plasterboard, though)
