Hi guys.
i am leasing this house. So I need any ideas that are reversable.
The dining room and Kitchen have hidious border round the middle and the top.
Any ideas on covering this without messing it up?
Please help..
Stace
REPEAT* Anything that I can easly reverse. That is why i asked for removable upgrades.
I was leasing a townhouse and had the same problem. I went to an office supply like "Office Max" and purchased some rubber cement. It will allow you to peel off things that are stuck together. I used a very small amount of glue in only spots. I glued up the new border. When it was time to leave, I carefully pulled it down. Maybe one or two spots, but no one could tell. Good luck. Remember to only use a very small amount of glue. If it falls down, just glue it back up.
Have steamed the paper border off but there’s bits of glue left behind on wall, and the wall itself is Plasterboard. Any ideas?
Scraping it perhaps! As the end curl up pull it off as it tends to stick together in long stretchy sections when dry, however as PVA is a water based glue I would have thought that steam and scrape would be your best option.
I am hanging a border in my bathroom, but it’s over paneling, and if I activate the glue I won’t be able to put the border straight over the indents in the paneling. Is there something I can use to hang it without activating the glue?? Maybe some sort of double sided tape or sticky tabs???
you can get wallpaper borders with self adhesive
I know this is dumb but I just want to do it right…and there is also a border on the wall right now. Should I remove that first, or paint over the old border, or put the new border over the old border? lol… this is silly but I was just curious on what everyone thought. Thank you and hope everyone has a great day!!!
I would remove whatever is currently on the walls (like the current border), paint and then put the new border on. That way everything looks clean and there won’t be any paint mistakenly put on the new border.
I am redecorating the office in our house and have searced high and low for a border with a computer room theme. Has anyone seen anything like this?
Yes. Many are juvenile. I’ve seen one of many kinds of fonts that say computer languages on it. There is some with the computer and screen on them. You may have to go to the teen & children’s section of wallpaper.

The wall is plaster that was sanded where the border was applied so the surface would be smooth and level. The surfance is still a little rough since it was hard to sand it perfectly flat. The border stayed up with the original adhesive for almost a year before it partially fell down recently. I have seen a brand online called Prepz by Zinsser, but I could not figure out which of their adhesive products might work in this situation, or if there is something better that might work, too.
First answer is a good option I’d like to expand on.
There are water based, less toxic spray adhesives,,,perhaps even from 3 M.
In the process you should mask off areas that you want to keep clean,,,,Spray adhesive also acts as a dust collector after the fact.
Spray into the area of non adhesion,,,perhaps on both surfaces where possible to act as a contact cement process, and gently roll with a paint roller, or soft cloth, dry sponge, over the area.
Zinzer is a quality product, and research is the best option,,,IE: READ LABELS.

We just painted our soon to be newborn’s nursery and now want to hang a border along the middle of the walls. How long to we need to wait before hanging the border? (Its been a little over a week)
Also, any advice as to the best way to hang a border? We have never done this. It is a pre pasted border and just says to get it wet before hanging. Sounds easy but I can imagine this is going to be quite a task!
paint wont completely cure for 30 days so if you put the border up now you run the risk of it bonding with the paint and making it impossible to remove if you ever choose to do so. 3 wks is the min I would wait. As far as installation. If you are going over a painted surface, make a level line around the perimeter of the room at the height you want the border to be set. Once you do that you can hang your border. Read the directions on how long to leave it in the water and also how long to "book" it. Booking is when you fold it glue to glue to get the glue activated. I fold it like an acordien , theis lets me handle the entire 15′ border by myself. Place it on the wall and use a sponge to smooth it out. If any glue and water run down the wall wash it off right away otherwise the glue will dry and leave a shiny streak on the wall.
Ok the next thing we want to do is make an escape button,,, this will close down our program in case something goes wrong so we don’t have to ctr alt delete and lose all our stuff,,, and this would also be a good time to save your project to a file on your desk top..
So we draw a decent size command button on the form and then double click on it and type in side unload me and then under that end
If you happen to get a error with that line unload me or it doesn’t work then try Unload.Me
This is the command to shut down the program.
We wont bother changing the caption or anything on the button because we will delete it after the project is complete
Now we’re going to remove our border around our form because we don’t want anyone to be able to shut this down without using the pass word
Do this by using the property menu like this
Ok well the next thing I’m going to show u how to do is put a pic on your iface,,
So 3rd last icon on the left above OLE is a icon if a pitcher not to be confused with the one that’s right up the top as thats a pitcher frame,,,
We click on the pic and draw a big box on the iface then go over to properties and find the pic we want to use,,, because this is a full screen program we want a pic that’s really big,, so a wallpaper or screen saver pic something like that will be good
So go over to pic and then click eh button locate the pic which you should have put it in your folder already then add it,,
Then we just going to right mouse click on the pic and say send to back
Ok time to make our release button,,
Click on button 2 which should be titled unlock and type in there
If text2 .text = text1.text then
Unload me end
Else
Label1. caption = ” wrong pass ”
and then under that end if
Anyone notice anything wrong with that ..?
Yerp that’s right we need to tell it to make the label so we can see it,, so
So under the else command label1 . Visible = true
now we want to run it and see how its going
ok let check to see of our
please add pass word is working,,, buy not typing a pass work in..
which it is
and then lets tell it the pass word is 1 .. and then in unlock put in the wrong pass word. 123
ok that’s good,,, says “wrong pass word”
mm now that’s blending into the back ground so let’s change the colour of the form again to something deferent
right now I’m just going to make shore our frame blends in by changing it to black seeing the pic im using is all black around the area,,, and then run the program.
Now I’m going to change the label from opaque to transparent.
then were going to stretch the form out as far as i can get it
this is so we can get the pic to coverer the whole form,,,
we could do this with coding but ill show you how to do that in up and coming tutorials.
This time we will just use the property menu for it
Well even thou we have stretched out the picture box the pic its self isn’t moving,,, what we need to do is change its property’s to stretch like so.
Then we change the BG of the form to black to mach our pic just in case there are some gaps left over

I’m putting up a border in our nursery, and I purchased a pre-pasted one. Do I need to use paste activator or can I just put it up with water? Since the baby will grow out of the room, I don’t care whether it’s still up in 10 years, maybe 5.
No it is no necessary. But if you have hard water the paste will not activate as well and you can remedie that with a few tsp.of amonia.
