Nimi Visuals 10.1 – Sakhmet – Jelly Windows 6.0, and new center panel

Posted by admin on March 17th, 2010 and filed under wallpaper and borders | 1 Comment »

Short video presenting updated jelly windows to 6.0, new center panel and some optimizations made in recent 14062009 build of Nimi Visuals.

Problem with borders is caused by not-being capable to capture DWM themes directly (I only have Vista Basic, and it requesting DWM thumbnail didn’t work at all), anyway looks way better with standard core as those are captured by separate NV graphics engine than used for DWM ones. Also consider that it’s kind of hard to capture those on video.

Nimi Visuals is freeware for non-commercial use effects and customization engine for Windows platform offering over 30 inbuilt effects as well as plugin support, repositories supporting even 3rd part customization software. Project started on 11th September 2008 – with currently featuring 10th major version line.

This video was made for educational purposes. Sample wallpaper, Nimi GUI concepts, preview images and pictures were made by me with non-profit purposes.

ADF / Asian Dub Foundation – Jericho (rare version) [HQ]

Posted by admin on March 14th, 2010 and filed under wallpaper and borders | 9 Comments »

Jericho by ADF with wallpaper i’ve made.

| LYRICS |

For the consciousness of the nation
The sounds of the Asian Dub Foundation:

The music we make It cuts across borders
We never make music to someone else’s orders
Plenty of issues on the agenda
if you want to lend a helping hand
You’re always told to shut up and dance
But you have to change this-take a chance
Turn the tables,
We know you’re able
Don’t just consume
Make your own tune.

The music, we use it
We’re making a stand
I wouldn’t call this a green and pleasant land
A conscious response is what we demand
Challenge the system and those in command
Express your opinion
It’s your domain
If you fail to do this You are partly to blame
My heart is beating
No retreat
The battle continues
We’ll suffer no defeat
This war you’ve been waging
It’s time we were raging
In our minds And on the streets
Sample this It’s an education
The sounds of the Asian Dub Foundation

Look around you, yeah
Open your mind
Check it out, tell me what you find
Here to document a situation
The sounds of the Asian Dub Foundation
Hope and glory
A myth of the tories
We’re here to tell you a different story

Here to readress the situation
The sounds of the Asian Dub Foundation

A rapper i may be But packaged I’m not
I’ll slip through the noose before you tie the knot
This work in progress not slick but rough
Breaking all records Twelve inches ain’t enough
Sample this
It’s an education
The sounds of the original, the original ….

We ain’t ethnic, exotic or eclectic
The only ‘e’ we use is electric
An Asian background that’s what’s reflected
But this millitant vibe ain’t what you expected
With your liberal minds You patronise our culture
Scanning the surface like vultures
With your tourist mentality
we’re still the natives
You multicultural but we’re anti-racist
We ain’t ethnic, exotic or eclectic
The only ‘e’ we use is electric

And we cry
Them coulda never escape
Disya judgement ……

How/Where do I get a custom designed printed onto wallpaper or pitch my design?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under wallpaper and borders | 2 Comments »

I am an illustrator, and yesterday I drew up a wallpaper border design I really like. If nothing else, I’d like to get it printed so I can hang it in my studio. Ideally, I’d like to attempt to pitch it to a wallpaper company. Where do I get either or both of these things done?

Painting over wallpaper BORDERS???

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under wallpaper and borders | 2 Comments »

I know all about using a special primer over wall paper in order to paint over it, but what if there’s a border on the wall? Will there be a visable difference between the wall where there wasn’t paper and where there was?

my husband is a painter u will have to take the boarder off and the glue before u prime the wall or u will see the difference. good luckk take the boarder off 1st.

How do you remove wallpaper?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under wallpaper and borders | 6 Comments »

When my boyfriend moved into his apartment in July, we painted a couple of rooms and put up a wallpaper border as a chair-rail in another. He’s moving earlier than expected (next weekend instead of August) and has to remove the border and repaint the walls the original color. The paint was really dark (red and navy and hunter green) and we’re using Kilz to cover it. But we’re having a hell of a time getting the border off. What is the easiest (and cheapest) way to get it off. We’ve tried soaking it with water, and that has taken most of it off, but there are some parts that just won’t budge. The was the first time either of us have put up wall paper, and we didn’t really know what we were doing when we put it up, and we didn’t really think about taking it down at the time! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

All you really need to do is use hot tap water let it soak in and then scrap it with a paint plastic putty knife. The hotter the water you can stand will work better. Let it soak in for about 10 minutes, while you are scraping that spray or just use a rag and bucket on the next area. Good luck!!!

How can I attach wallpaper to the wall without gluing it?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under wallpaper and borders | 3 Comments »

I live in an apartment and want to use a wallpaper border, but obviously am not allowed to put it up permanently since we’re renting. I’d have to attach it using a temporary method, but what is the best way to do it without having it fall down?

I know they make temporary wallpaper, but that won’t help me because I’m not going to buy a border, I already have one and need a way to put it up "temporarily".

Double sided tape and lots of it or that blue stuff you hang posters with.
