The capital of the landlocked country between the Russian Federation (Soviet Union no longer exists) and China is Ulan Bator (often more correctly spelled Ulaanbaatar)

The nation is Mongolia.

    Ulan Bator is the capital of mongolia, the landlocked country you ask for.

    Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, which is actually south of Russia. The USSR went away by the time I was in the 6th grade.
