Measurements: Makes 1 1/2 dozen dinner rolls
Warm water 0.5 cup
Soy Milk 1.0 cup
Active dry yeast 2 tablespoons
All Purpose Flour 2.5 cups
Wellbread mix base 2.0 cups
(this can be our dinner rolls mix or any of our bread-pancake mixes)
Sea Salt-fine 1.5 tsp
Honey 3.0 tablespoons Directions: - In Bowl#1, mix bread flour and our mix base together with a whisk. Fluff it up.
- In Bowl#2, dissolve all yeast, and honey in Luke warm water and soy milk. Stir the ingredients briefly. You can increase the amount of yeast for a faster rise.
- Add 60% of this completed bread mix, plus the egg into bowl#2. Stir well, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for 10 minutes.
- Add remainder of bread mix, salt, oil and knead on the counter top until dough is smooth and elastic. Form into balls and place on a well greased pan. (if using electric bread mixer with dough hook, mix on med. for of 10-20 minutes or until full development)*
- Let rise for 45-70 minutes until about double in size. Temperature should be 80-100 degrees F in a non-drafty area.
- Place in preheated oven,
bake at 400 degrees F. for 12-20 minutes until golden brown. - Remove from oven and butter tops.
*Dough is thoroughly developed when you can pull off a small piece (size of half dollars) and pull it to form a paper thin sheet. Note: if dough is too stiff to knead easily add a little more water to produce a slacker and easier to handle dough. Courtesy of Bread Without Borders all rights reserved |
