The previous people put up strawberry wall border in the living room(weird), I wanna put up new border but it is so stuck to the paneled walls, how do I get it off without damage or ugly walls?
Just tired the fabric softener and water mix. it is working, the just plain hot water also works. Thank you all greatly, i can rid my living room of a kitchen type border, LOL
get a pail of warm water and put in some fabric softener, about 1/2 to 1 cup.
Get a sponge or heavy cloth and soak the border well catch any drips and keep the rest of the panel dry….leave it for 5 min, it should peel right off…. you might want to wipe down the panels with warm clean water to remove any old glue from the previous border….

If the paneling is real wood water may work ( be patient) ,however, if the paneling is particle based, water is not good. If the border is stuck that well consider washing the border carefully, priming, an install over old with new border.

Use your finger nails and pull the vinyl face of the paper of and then with a spray bottle with HOT water and a wet rag saturate the backing and scrape off, if it’s a plain paper border forget peeling the facing, if you still can’t get it off install the new border over the old by using a paste called vinyl over vinyl, good luck Les the painter

You can also purchase a scorer at the home improvement store – looks like a back scrubby with nails to make holes in the paper and then apply the solution. They should also sell gel remover at the hardware store.
This works great and helps get the solution into the paper and dissolve the glue
