The former border crossing of “Bornholmer Strasse” was the first point of the “DDR” that opened it’s gates to the West on 9th of november 1989. Shortly after the news the first “Trabi” rolled into the west.

What a myth about happens that often happen in other places with more people. Champions League finals, a lot of demonstration join more people at least once per month.
How many people were there? thousands? The big Demonstration joined at most 70000 people (according with the myth). Where were the rest of the 16 millions of citizens of the East Germany?
Legendly, when the … Legendly, when the wall was constructed they had to close all the sewerpipes going thru the border. So, they had to hire welders to do the job. First guys that got the position strangely disappeared during the work.
