Anyone know how to take down wallpaper border?

Ugh to the previous owners of this house! There is this horrible wall paper border in one room of our house. It took literally two hours to take it down from just one wall, three more to go. Anyone have any tips to speed it up?
ok plz don’t think I’m a dumb a lol, but what does score mean? I haven’t been outta my parents house long, they had no wallpaper in the house so I have never dealt w/it b4.

After removing thousands of feet of wall paper and border, best solution I have found (never scored) is hot water in a spray bottle, let soak in for 10-15 minutes, then come back and spray it again and start removing it. There is also a small scoring wheel, it puts small holes in the paper for water penetration, you can usually get at a local hardware design for this type of job. Never used it but heard of it. Good luck

Score if with a knife (don’t go too deep or you’ll score the wall too)
Wet with a solution of soapy water, leave ten minutes or so then scrape off.

I’ve always used a putty knife and a spry bottle with hot tap water and a little fabric softener.

If you don’t trust yourself to score the border with a knife thy have a scoring tool you can use .

Score it spry it give it a few minutes to soak in then peel some of it off, most old wallpaper will leave a thin layer of paper on the wall after pulling the top layer off spry that give it a few minutes then scrape that off with a putty knife.
Score , spry, peal ,spry scrape keep working like that till you get it off.

Scoring means to cut something but not all the way through. In the case of wallpaper, you don’t want to cut into whatever is underneath it but you need to get through the surface so the remover can soak into the paper below. I believe they make a special tool for scoring wallpaper but I haven’t used it. Check in the paint department at Home Depot. Once the top layer is off, the rest goes faster, and it’s best to wash off any remaining glue right away before things dry up again. I’m afraid the best way to remove wallpaper is not to be in too much of a hurry. Let the remover soak long enough to work. I feel your pain. I had to remove pink and burgundy border from two rooms in my house.

I used a damp cloth and an iron, but make sure to keep the cloth wet at all times. I had some ugly wallpaper in the house i bought as well. Keep in mind that the sheetrock was painted prior to the wallpaper in my case.

I always use a mixture of fabric softener and water and pray it onto the border and let that soak in. (five minutes or so) Then just use a brillo pad or hard scrub brush to rough it up (score it) and it should peel right off.
