Got it all to work. ...
Got it all to work...
Including essential codecs and apps. Not user friendly, but not rocket science either.

It does come with ...
It does come with compiz-fusion installed, it just doesn't come with the advanced settings manager so you have to use the preset levels of effects (none, normal, or extra). I think they can't have mp3 support pre-installed for legal reasons, but for mp3, flash, and java you can just copy and paste this into terminal:

sudo aptitude install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts flashplugin-nonfree libflashsupport ubuntu-restricted-extras

With Ubuntu, I ...
With Ubuntu, I think the boot up was a bit faster, but the shutdown was slower. That's because BSD (what Mac OS X is based on) just kills all programs, where Linux tries to close the programs and save the work.

Yeah, Ubuntu is one ...
Yeah, Ubuntu is one of the easiest Linux OSes to deal with, if not THE easiest. It's like Windows and Mac, there are help files everywhere.

The boot up is ...
The boot up is quicker indeed, the shutdown isn't, Linux closes down quite gently. It stops all processes one by one and saves as much as it can. BSD(were OSX is based on) just kills the apps and shutsdown, quick and dirty
